In general, shock-absorbers, disks of brakes and especially coupling show durability much above an average level. At purchase it is necessary to mean that the hydraulic booster should be serviceable, differently its replacement will manage in a round sum. A steering wheel too big in cars of all years of release.

Have lacks and engines of cars of a class of S.Tak, in version С220 of release of 1994 the raised turns of idling (they spontaneously increase to 2000 turns in a minute) because of defect in a drive throttle заслонок are noted. This lack can be eliminated by change of a fixing pad of a cable. In version С230 with турбокомпрессором there are separate cases of refusals of the compressor because of easing of fastening of an air pipe on an exit of the air filter (it is eliminated since November, 1995).

All cars of a class With are characterised by bad dispersal at not heated-up engine, therefore until the motor will not get warm to working temperature, the accelerator pedal is necessary for pressing cautiously, carefully dosing out gas mixture giving. In versions С200D/С220D of release of 1994 there are failures in engine work, in particular, during acceleration at average turns (because of problems in the computer (a chain of management ТНВД)). On separate cars the engine management computer was replaced on a guarantee. In versions 220D/250D release of 1994 take place noise of valves and нагарообразование on the final valves, causing loss of capacity because of compression decrease in cylinders (valves are not closed completely). The problem is eliminated in 1995 by drawing of a chromic covering on cores of valves.

The electric equipment very good and censures does not cause. The only thing that it is possible to note here, changes of adjustment of external rear-view mirrors at closing of doors in cars 1994 (class). In the cars equipped with the conditioner of air, after its deenergizing glasses, especially in case of strong pollution of the filter immediately mist over.

What to prefer?

Cars with an automatic transmission use small demand in the market of second-hand vehicles. As to a new series With, the best choice – version С180. It has a bit smaller capacity, than versions С200 and С220, but at smooth driving it will not be felt. Version С200 Elegance with the engine capacity of 136 h.p. is more expensive because of higher level of furnish: wooden inserts, electric стеклоподъемники on all doors, the electric drive of the external aerial. Powerful version С280 with the excellent 6-cylinder engine – very pleasant car. Also diesel version С250D though it and costs недешево also is reputable. In cars of a C-class with an automatic transmission it appears "more softly", than mechanical.

Possible malfunctions
