Depending on car equipment the natural category of the storage battery is promoted by current consumption by various control systems even in that case when the engine does not work. Therefore at the standing car it is necessary to recharge the storage battery every four week. If there is a suspicion available leak currents on surfaces of insulators, check up an electric onboard network.

To check apply the charged storage battery.

1. Disconnect from the plug of the battery a weight wire (–).
The prevention

All saved up data in electronic memories, as, for example, an anticreeping code of radio is thus erased. Before switching-off of the storage battery it is necessary to read also the recommendations resulted in subsection 14.1.7.

2. Establish on the ampermeter (a range of measurement from 0–5 мА to 5) the maximum limits of measurement. The ampermeter include between a negative pole of the battery and a wire connecting its pole with the case of the car.

The prevention

Check can be spent as well by means of a control bulb. But if the bulb does not light up at its inclusion between a flexible crosspiece and a negative pole of the storage battery in any case it is necessary to use the ampermeter.

3. Disconnect all consumers of a current, disconnect from plugs electronic clock (the constant consumer of a current), close doors.
4. Switching ampermeter ranges, define current size.
5. Removing safety locks, consistently disconnect various electric chains. If in one of the broken off chains the zero, here is displayed and it is necessary to search for a malfunction source. The correlated or polluted contacts, through wiped wires, internal short circuit in units can be defects.
6. If in the electric chains protected by fuses, it is not revealed defects it is necessary to pull together tips of wires from the units which have been not protected by fuses. Those are: ignition system, the generator and a starter.
7. If at a detachment from plugs of one of the units not protected by fuses indication comes back to zero repair or replace a corresponding detail. At detection of leak of a current in a starter or in ignition system, first of all check up the ignition switch according to the basic scheme of an electric equipment.
8. Connect to the plug of the accumulator a weight wire (–).
9. Establish time, and also enter an anticreeping code for radio.
