12.3. The additional equipment – system ASR

System антипробуксовочной drive adjustments (Antriebs-Schlupf-Regelung: ASR) is logic development of system ABS.

ABS prevents blocking of wheels at braking. Thanks to it the car at braking remains operated and does not change a direction.

System ASR prevents proslipping приводных wheels at трогании, a set of speed and during a trip, for example, at various coupling of wheels, on turn and at sudden maneuvers with direction change. So the optimum traction effort is carried out.

ASR operates in two various planes if one slips or both wheels, a corresponding wheel it is braked. Thus capacity of the engine automatically decreases.

Components available in system ABS are supplemented for system ASR with hydraulics, electronics and an electronic pedal of gas (Е – Gas). By pressing of an electronic pedal throttle заслонка it is resulted by the electromotor with electronic control.

By means of four gauges the general for ABS and ASR the device measures frequency of rotation of all four wheels and processes the information.

At the proslipping beginning in a corresponding brake pressure raises, and the wheel is automatically braked. If pressure of braking reaches the value braking a wheel. It is supported to constants. If the number of turns comes nearer to optimum pressure decreases. Thanks to it the wheel works in an optimum range of coupling. Logic ASR is that that at wheel proslipping at low speeds at first the wheel is braked (adjustment of a brake contour), and on high speeds capacity of the engine (adjustment приводного the moment) at first decreases.

Simultaneously the system constantly checks, whether has improved, for example, quality of coupling of wheels with a ground and at improvement transfers to wheels all capacity from the engine.

The indicator of work ASR informs the driver that the system begins adjustment and that driving conditions come nearer to the boundary.

System ABS work does not depend at all from ASR, both systems perfectly well supplement each other.

At deep snow and application of wheel chains, and also, for example, at movement on friable sand on cross-country tyres thin adjustment of proslipping of wheels operates negatively on driving conditions. In such cases the special program of work of the control mean, chosen by the driver by means of switch "Schneekettenschalter" (the switch of chains противоскольжения) is provided. The raised proslipping of wheels that the car could "be gnawed through" in the above-stated situations is thus supposed. As such adjustment negatively affects stability of driving at high speeds, it operates only till the speed of 38 km/h. At achievement of speed of 60 km/h "the logic of chains противоскольжения" is disconnected. At the included mode the sign on the switch is shone.

The adjustment system is built in system ASR пробуксовочного the engine moment (MSR) also. It prevents too strong заторможивание wheels at braking by the engine and proslipping if, for example, on slippery road there is a switching on lower transfer or on low transfer gas is sharply dumped. At beginning proslipping the brake moment of the engine at the expense of automatic приоткрывания throttle заслонки decreases. Thanks to it the car is stabilised that means effectiveness of a back drive.
