Models Mercedes of the S-class, depending on the equipment, are equipped by tyres and wheels of the various sizes. The size, along with width of a rim, defines also depth запрессовки. Depth запрессовки represents the size from the middle of a rim to a surface прилегания wheel niches to a brake disk.
All disk wheels have запрессованный a ledge which at very sharp driving on turns prevents pressure of a rim on бескамерную the tyre.
If tyres and / or ободья which are not specified in the passport in the car are established, it is necessary to bring them in the passport. For this purpose, as a rule, the permission to their use from firm Mercedes is necessary.
All data on pressure of air is resulted for cold tyres. Increase of pressure resulting to long driving in tyres on 0,2 bar should not be pitted.
Pressure of air in the tyre of a spare wheel corresponds to the maximum pressure at full loading.
As a result of continuous technical development other values of pressure of air in tyres and other combinations the tyre-rim for older models can be probably admissible. Therefore we recommend to request actual specifications in specialised repair shops.
Pressure of air in tyres is specified also in a label on a cover of a fuel tank.
Manufacturers recommend to use tyres only to depth of a profile of 1,6 mm, on all surface of a protector depth of a profile should be not less than 1,6 mm. However replacement of summer tyres for safety reasons is recommended at depth of a profile of 2 mm and winter tyres at depth of a profile of 4 mm.
As winter tyres provide restriction of speed the driver should know the instructions, concerning admissible highest speed.
Marks of disks
Example: 6 J х 15 Н2 ЕТ31:
6 = width of a rim of a wheel in inches
Marks of tyres
/70 = the relation of height to width (the height of cross-section section of the tyre makes 70 % from width)
If the specified parities of cross-section section are absent (for example, 155R13) "the normal" parity height / in this case takes place width. It makes for radial tyres of 82 %.
Н = a class of speed, Н: to 210 km/hour (for new tyres it is underlined not always).
R = a radial design (= the radial tyre) 14 = diameter of a rim in inches
89 = an index of bearing ability.
Н = a letter designation of admissible highest speed.
If between the data 14 and 89 there is designation Н + S it specifies in tyres with a winter profile.
Letter designation of speed
The letter designation of speed costs after a designation of the size of the tyre. Symbols of a designation of speed concern both to summer, and winter tyres.
Date of manufacturing of tyres
Manufacturing date is specified on the tyre in a code of the manufacturer.
